LittleRedFisherman Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 I've always considered myself a river fisherman, just something about it I love. My favorite these days is chasing smallmouth, but my roots started out pursuing flathead cats here in the Delta! Last night I joined a couple buddies and went after um again, it did not disappoint! The backdrop as we baited out the last line last night was breathtaking! Just made you stop for a minute! tho1mas, grizwilson, BilletHead and 3 others 6 There's no such thing, as a bad day fishing!
Quillback Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 Great pics Brett! Those are some sweet flatties. LittleRedFisherman 1

bfishn Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 Five stars and an attaboy! The first few nights you need a jacket is always good flattie time. Then it gets even better. Dude. Really. There's plenty enough good flatties there to make a hell of a night rod 'n reelin'. Set the clickers and kick back. You know where they are. You have what they crave. You have to do it man. I loved runnin' lines, but I love em even better on R&R. LittleRedFisherman 1 I can't dance like I used to.
grizwilson Posted August 22, 2015 Posted August 22, 2015 Awesome! Brett. LittleRedFisherman 1 “If a cluttered desk is a sign, of a cluttered mind, of what then, is an empty desk a sign?”- Albert Einstein

LittleRedFisherman Posted August 22, 2015 Author Posted August 22, 2015 Thanks ya'll, this is about the only fish I clean these days, and man they are tasty. Some of the folks around here that don't understand why I drive to the Ozarks to catch and release smallies, I tell um I eat flathead...ha. Five stars and an attaboy! I loved runnin' lines, but I love em even better on R&R. bfishn, I've done that before, and it's fun, a lot of times for me, i'll run lines between work, that was the case here. We all worked till evening, baited out, ran um and cleaned um early and went back to work. I"d love to hang a 50 pounder on a rod, man that would be fun! Here we were trotlining, had 4 lines out about 200 feet, on the St Francis here at home, I like to do short limblines, the antipation going up to each line has a thrill of it's own for me!!
