fishinwrench Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 I was going across the 64 bridge yesterday and noticed something shiny on the bridge pavement. At the last instant I realized it was a decent looking rigged fly rod (nice rod/machined reel) it wasn't a cheapie. Another car was approaching and the lanes are too narrow to swerve, so I creamed it and the pieces went flying. I didn't even bother to go back and look. It is destroyed, Sorry! Someone obviously left it sitting on a bumper or something. Gavin and Flysmallie 2
David Unnerstall Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 If my next truck has a step bumper I am going to remove it. I have left too many things on it.
Gavin Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Lost one in Montana that way! Still have the flattened reel on my fly tying desk as a reminder. Sage sent a new rod.
fishinwrench Posted September 23, 2015 Author Posted September 23, 2015 I sat my phone and cigs on the bumper while hooking up the boat a couple weeks ago. Got to the boat ramp and all I lost was my lighter. Phone and pack of smokes held on for dear life and made the ride. Go Otter box!
Flysmallie Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Headed on a float trip years ago and stopped at the McDonalds in Strafford. My buddy left his wallet laying on the fender of the trailer. He didn't remember it until we were on the other side of Lebanon. It was still sitting on the fender of the trailer. Daryk Campbell Sr 1
Gavin Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Had a buddy leave his wallet on the roof rack of his vehicle on the way from St. Louis to Montana...noticed it in Columbia.
Daryk Campbell Sr Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 My 15 year old son lost his wallet while tubing in Table Rock last month. Not much of value, but the lesson sure was valuable. He had some gift cards and his boater safety card in it. He also lost his "favorite" pocket knife. It happens, hopefully he is more aware. Money is just ink and paper, worthless until it switches hands, and worthless again until the next transaction.
