Cards looking good.  Rosenthal looking like himself in the 9th, but he'll get out of it.

Should be a tough game today.  I don't like our chances if we go down 2-1 in the series.   Wacha is going to need to pitch a shutout tonight and we are going to have to make Arrieta throw a lot of pitches...even if we can't hit them.

Holiday, Jay, Molina. Thanks Mike!  He'd rather lose as a mensch and friend, than make hard decisions and try to win TODAY'S game.

(now a homer off Wacha).

Holiday: can't run. can't field. not a batting threat

Molina: has one good arm and hand. Can't hit.

Jay: has done nothing this year.

Yet all three are starting and playing. Grichuk and Reynolds on bench. GO CARDS!

Ooops no Jay. Sorry. I think.

If the Cards could have kept the ball in the yard last night it would have been a shutout.  All the dingers are killing them.

Cubs are hot and the Cards are not.  The teams entering the playoffs hot are all winning, despite records or home team advantages.

It is refreshing to see different teams in there doing well.  I love the Cards but it might be time to root for the Cubs if they go on to the next level.  They're due.

But the Cards have pulled out clutch games this season- getting it done when they're completely down.  We'll see if Lynn has his stuff.  If he doesn't, hope the wind is blowing in at Wrigley!

I figured on a likely loss to Arietta but not the way that one happened.  I was really hopeful when they got to him the way they did.  Still too early to give up on the Birds if you ask me.  I will go out on a limb and predict a game five win for the Cardinals and an intact Cubs curse.

He's still getting well.  Hard to say.  Thumb was really bothering him last night, that much was clear.
