They aren't making lab fish.  The genetics have allowed them to figure out which strains are different from others.   Knowing this allows them to put different strains in the water to test.

pretty sure there has been some "strain" blending going on for quite awhile.    Who else here remembers the Cutbows at Bennett ?

Yea. but not in a lab by splicing genes.  They are doing what man has been doing for hundreds of years.

MDC has put in a lot of effort and I applaud it as it is reaping benefits that I have started to notice.

That is good news, certainly much better than the old put and take management that the river was under for so long.

There are a lot of >16 inch Bows in the Blue and White Ribbon areas. I'm not sure why I don't hear more about ppl going there to fish. This is a Great time of year to fish there. The crowds are gone and the weather has been great. Book a trip with Brian and get after them.

Brian - I know we've had this conversation in years past but any new discussion with the MDC on brown trout?  Wasn't the barrier a hell bender study?  Ted

Not gonna happen Ted.  We did a petition, a very big one at that, and the USFS rejected the idea for like the 5th time.  They simply won't allow the MDC to put them in there.  If they are not there now, they will not be ok'd for stocking in the future.
