96 CHAMP Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 Sounds like that guy worked his but off to win that tournament
fishinwrench Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 I am way too lazy and impatient to fish that way. Just glue a buzzbait rod to your hand and churn water ALL DAY LONG.....FOR 3 DAYS STRAIGHT, and only getting 7-10 bites a day. Good grief, there are way easier ways to make money than that ! Those top three guys are gonna hear buzzbaits in their sleep for weeks after this.
WeekendWarrior Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 I would say fishing is pretty tough down here right now. BFL had plenty of good sticks scratching there heads including some of our own local guys. Saw a lot of 1 and 2 fish bags brought to the scales.
fishinwrench Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 It is a slow bite ! Soooo many shad.....These fish are not interested in anything we've got to offer them right now.
96 CHAMP Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 I messed around a bit Saturday with the bass and caught about 6 on top water, had to cover a bit of water just to catch those, so I found it more interesting chasing whites
Old plug Posted October 26, 2015 Posted October 26, 2015 I see Hams picture on wrenches post and twice I had a post on here and it showed up on another thread I read. Had to delete it twice. Anyway it certainly is slow bass fishing. went out yesterday though in early afternoon from 1 till about 4:30 I caught about about 5 or 6 bass not sure now . Three were keepers one was 18". Also had a darn 25" drum smack a jig in back of a dock in a tight place that really gave me some hell for a short while. I fished 1/2 oz buck tail jigs and also wacky worms. The fish were very close to the bank on mostly channel banks. l tried to fish the deepest shade I could find. Wacky actually out fished the jig. The green sunfish were having a picnic or something and were a pest the entire time on the wacky. But fun no less on the 8 lb test line and light action 7 ft rod. Everything including the sunfish just absolutely shut down about 4:30. I was ready to stay out there longer for about the first time this season thanks to a new shoulder brace.
Members MattS Posted October 26, 2015 Members Posted October 26, 2015 I struggled this weekend too (not fishing in tourney) but did have some luck on buzzbaits and flukes in the coves.
