I keep a yearly calendar where I jot down weather conditions.  I was looking at last year today and on 11/14/14 the ponds around here got their first skim of ice.  I am liking this year better.

I was still catching white bass like crazy last year in mid-December.  I'm hoping for a repeat this year but it ain't looking so good.    We need a good rain here.

I am shutting down for the year. The past 3 yrs are so have been a steady decline in my area of the Gravois. Of course I have cut a lot of hours off my fishing as well. The really big cats have gotten fewer and fewer. The Bass have not been what they were are years ago either. Crappie still are hanging on but white bass terrible down here. I think boat traffic has something to do with it.

According to the news. Our state reps and senators are finally getting involved in the boat crap. They are upset about boats and the water patrol merger both. For those of you who come down here regularly. I am betting there is going to be some kind of state law coming about electrical wiring on docks. You still see all sorts of lousy wiring all over the place. The other day I was fishing by a dock that someone's idea of grounding was to attach a grounding wire to the corner of the dock and stick it down in the water.

Passing a law on the electrical service will mean nothing if no way to enforce it. Las year on the sunday of deer season opening ot was cold and snowing at my house.

That will be part of the law. That is the pat that concerns me. It will be mandatory annual or by annual inspections that the dock owner would be required to pay for. Not to mention that the local fire departments will be doing it. I have my doubts about that part. I reworded mine to the standards of the power company.

Still a new guy to Beaver Lake. My notes tell me that I've learned a few things and have caught many more fish this year than last. That said they have all been much smaller, tiny. Have not caught a keeper crappie or walleye since April. Missing my fish fry. From Beaver posts it seems I'm not alone. Even the whites I've caught have been smaller. zero 19" this year. Lots of 12".
