You might try one of the recipe sites. I like allrecipes.com. Find a recipe with a high rating and large number of them and you can be fairly certain it's good. Or not.

Would not call that a feature ingredient, but makes a good color contrast. Can sub it for anything that requires beans but hardly ever use them by themselves unless I want a dark colored base to contrast with other ingredients. Just beans.....most taste like beans. Any bean recipe will do...the rest is cosmetic.

I never thought black bean and great would be in the same sentence.

Yeah, me too -- not really of fan of black beans. I like pintos better.
