I may have my table rock mind set here but does anyone ever go out deep and spoon/drop shot?

In the coldest water I do,  but mostly for crappie and get a lot of white bass takers.  The shad will pile up in some of the basins at 30-50 FOW and if you can stay on them you can catch fish in the crappiest winter weather.  I use heavier baits like a 3/4 jigging rap or spoon on 10# braid as it is invariably breezy when I get the chance to fish.  Don't need to worry about boat traffic.

BTW, sorry to hear about the ticker Warrior - do what you don't want to do and you'll be as good as new.  I was 2 pack a day guys for years; been 13 years since I had one.  BEST thing I ever did for ME - hang in there!

Take very good care of yourself warrior. I've been down that road myself.

I can't believe a doctor down HERE told you not to fish!   If so he needs to be fired. :)

You must have gone to Columbia.

Slinging an A-rig might be pushing it a bit, but c'mon...  If I felt like it then bygod I'd go.   Telling you to quit smoking and THEN saying you can't do anything to get your mind off it.....why that's torture.

It was done at Lake regional in Osage Beach, we were there in 5 minutes after I decided we better go. The doc says 4 weeks of R&R, we shall see, feeling pretty good but went thru artery in wrist instead of the groin so that is sore. Trying not to smoke especially when fishing for me is going to be hard unless the fish bite like they did right before this happened. Slinging the a-rig is out for a while for sure. May have to switch to the crappie. Going on 7 days without a smoke now and still craving one now and then but wife is watching me like a hawk.

I'm sure the scare you had makes a few life changes alot easier to stick to.   I could probably use a heart attack myself, just to shake some sense into me.    Probably wouldn't work though, I had a good scare a year ago that should have but didn't.

I really need to quit smoking and I need to get away from the work related chemicals that I've grown to take so for granted.  I eat good, don't drink much, and get plenty of excersize, but at 52 I need to clean up my life a little bit more.    We all probably do.
