No, if I had a jersey on, I would have said I actually landed the fish, and it was closer to 6 pounds, but I forgot to take a picture!

Don't forget, you would also have had to credit your Power Poles for holding your rig steady while you battled that behemoth, presuming you either had the 100-foot Table Rock Specialty Series or the optional Hugger device that allows you to clamp onto bridge pilings, trees, boat docks or other vertical structure.

100 foot power poles wouldn't have reached bottom where I was fishin!

And the Hugger would be a bad idea while they're workin on the bridge. Between the noise & vibration from the rivet remover and the falling debris, I wanted to be ag-ile and mo -bile!

If you'd seen Mike Webb with the tire that flew off the bridge and almost hit him, you would want a roof over you when you fish the bridge. Lot of big fish do move through there, but they are super mobile.

I would ask my wife for a scale for Christmas, but I'm afraid she would get me one!

Try the veal, and remember to tip your servers...

Time to get on a diet.....or re-power the Ranger for that yearly increase in lag on the hole shot.  I myself am going to have to upgrade my trolling motor to a kicker motor on the bow to get my fat butt around the lake. Motorguide isn't cutting it, Dieselguide is what I need.

You all are absolute right on those deep fish,  Don't mess with them in the least.  Yes, Pictures are nice, but be quick as a cat about it and get them back to the Briny Deep.  If you remember those toads that Jack and I caught last Winter, on that Ice Jig, were  some of the biggest K's have seen it years.  Don't believe anyone of them was close to that 5 pound mark.  Several were pushing 4 maybe.

I have caught one 5.1 pounder in Table Rock since 1976  I have guided over 10,000 clients on the Rock and unfortunately none of them has caught a 5 pounder either.  I believe Beck said he has caught only 1 also and had one client catch one slightly over 5. Since 1965. They are in there and early season derby fishermen catch some.  Mostly on the spoon, jerkbait, or the A-Rig.

It can be done.  I'm green with envy for those that get one of them, and then happy as a clam also.  Gives me real faith in our fishery

Good Luck All..

I have never seen a 5. I caught one in Broken Bow in the 70's that weighed over 4 on a good spring scale. Can't imagine what a 5 would be like.
