Ben Gillispie Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 Didn't get out on the boat, but fished around all the docks down at Indian Point while we had some things on the grill and football on the friends houseboat. Once the wind really started picking up about 2:30 or 3:00, I caught fish. 13 total I think if you include the dinks/shorts. All came on the Ned and all came in the back of the cove there at IP, 20-30ft. One dinker smallmouth who's eyes were bigger than his stomach, the rest Kentuckies. Many times, especially the bigger ones, they'd hit it on the fall. Healthy K's. PB&J Ned did well, but the watermelon red Ned 'hula stick' did great, which I didn't even know existed until I went to Bass Pro yesterday before heading to the dock. big c Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 Thanks for the report, good news also. That means i dont have to go far to catch em!!!!!
dtrs5kprs Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 There are some very good fishermen who think the Hula Stickz catches better fish on the Ned. Can't tell a big difference myself. A lot of the folks who use it trim it down some. Ben Gillispie 1
LD Fisher Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 Good looking fish. Thanks for the report. Now I've got to add to my Ned tackle...rats! I already sent my letter to Santa!! Ben Gillispie 1

Ben Gillispie Posted December 14, 2015 Author Posted December 14, 2015 Haha. Goog stuff guys.... the Hula Stick did a nice job, first time using it. I thought about trimming it down, it is considerably longer than the typical Zman ned's..it did it's job though! Careful, too. There are many different colors, and now that there are Hula Sticks in many colors as well at $4.49 a bag, having a color selection on hand can get pricey!
Champ188 Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 Good job, Ben. Sounds like lots of fun. Had to be a lot more comfortable under that covered dock than out in the rain like Donna and I were on Grand yesterday. Top photo is definitely a LM. The rest look like K's to me. Ben Gillispie 1
