Ya its mostly the regular xr50s i think.  bought a bunch after my cousin embarrased me on his lake in indiana.  IDK why i did, i knew it wasnt the lure that was the problem....i have yet to do well with lipless crankbaits.  Why are the one knocker baits so valuable?

People (mostly southern lakes or lakes with grass) just like them for the one "thud" or "knock" sound that they have instead of the multiple bb's that rattle. I am not a big lipless guy either so I don't know the allure of the "one knocker". I've always been a two big knockers guy. I'll see myself out.

One knockers are old school, even though they were reintroduced. Big pre spawn bass in the dirty south have an appetite for one knockers. The BBs are too high pitched, but still catch bass.

Assuming you get paid on the 15th and 1st? lol. To be honest, I mean, the Booyah's have to been the exact same bait less the exact paint job? But I guess this is a good investment as in 30 years the "Pre-Booyah One Knocker" market should be rolling on Ebay. If only I can convince my wife these baits "are for our nest egg investment Honey".

Going way, way, way back Cotton Cordell had the lipless crankbait "The Spot". Guys figured out that the ones with a loose ballast weight in the head caught fish a lot better than the silent ones. One big chunk of lead thunked as the bait vibrated. Guys would test them out at the store and not buy the quiet ones. The company changed the bait to make them all loose. I used a lot of various Spots in my day and still carry them in my tackle box.

There was a niche market for big profile 1 oz Spots. They never caught on Nation wide, but I think guys with using them in Alabama ledge fishing. Guys would check old tackle stores looking for them. Bacons in Shreveport has some old, old unpainted 1oz Spot blanks unless someone bought them all.

The current bait companies saw that and brought 1 oz baits back.

I've caught a lot of fish on various brand lipless baits. Spots, Rattle Traps, and others. Do not believe for a minute that the Rattle Trap won't still catch big pre spawn LMB in grass. I've caught too many quality fish to be told the higher pitch is without value. The one knocker might be another good option to throw, but it ain't the only option.

There will likely be some real deals on those square bills. They were trending toward the dump racks anyway. Just got back from a shop in Liberty and they had gobs of them.

This reminded me of the Pro Team Journal that I watched this weekend. They had the new 2 tap Strike King Red Eye shad with a tungsten weight. It was so over the top I almost threw up. They were fishing Toledo Bend and Rayburn. (Classic Lipless lakes) acting like they were  catching them due to the different rattle sound. "He bit that like he had never heard that before, cause he hasn't Ha Ha Ha" Cheesy would be an understatement.

Cheesy marketing is better than zero marketing, I would guess.

The rattles don't matter near as much as fall rate.

I bought about 10 Red Eye Shad's and 3 Spro Aruku Shad's back during the Black Friday event on TW in 2014. Not going to lie I haven't even thrown a single one yet. I have bait hoarding issues.
