I suggest you "build your own" JDM quality bait. Yank the hooks off and send the bait to Hughesy or some other painter. When they come back use Death Trap hooks and tie your own feathers. I had a dozen done that way and the real cost averaged $20 per bait. I like the colors, but im sure ill paint some up...and yes, this year i started feathering my own trebles as the ones i want are either too small or junk hooks. Thats def the way to go, those VMC xrap hooks suck! Thanks for the tip. I really like those lures.

Members Jozark Posted February 19, 2016 Author Members Posted February 19, 2016 Champ I think they might be referring to the Top Dollar top water plug that Norman makes. I have never used one but it seems there are a few guys who really seem to like them. Speaking of Luck-E-Strike there is a company I would love to support more, but it seems quality is lacking on most of their products. (Warthogs seemed to be a disaster) I know their jerkbaits and squarebills seem to be the only products that are mention. I also know they seem to have one of the better pro staffs around. James Waston, Hibdons, Robbie Dobson one of the Lane bros. I also believe Lucky E Strike products are made in the USA and are the Great the State of Missouri. Since I seem to have a major collecting problem with tackle maybe someone could let me know if there is something I am missing with Luck E Strike. Champ188, dtrs5kprs and abkeenan 3
Champ188 Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 I throw their jerkbaits a lot. They are very close to a Megabass Vision 110 and at $9 each, I can buy 3 of the RC STX for what one Megabass costs. I've had some leakage problems with them but for the most part, they are well worth the $9.
Members Fat Cat Posted February 20, 2016 Members Posted February 20, 2016 Back in the day 1985 ish. I had met Bill Norman at a charity tournament. I guess we hit it off cause he invited me down to his place and sold me plastic worm for $5 a pound. anything and everything. Great guy sad to see his company go;( Champ188 1

Champ188 Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 PRADCO bought Norman. Luck-E-Strike, formerly of Cassville, MO, sold out to True North Enterprises of Geneva, IL, in 2014. http://swtimes.com/business/norman-lures-acquired-pradco-outdoor-brands http://www.cassville-democrat.com/story/2115314.html
