Iposted how, where and when and a lot of times would have 4-7 boats in my spot the next day. I don't know how Cali fishes but I feel that beaver fishes very small. And if I'm spending countless hrs and money on fuel I'd like to have the spot for a while. I'm ok with saying fishing is good in the river or stripers being caught south of 12 bridge. But don't see why I'd need to say the spot. That's what's fun about fishing for big striper, figuring them out. I'm not a guide or the best fisherman and I have to work hard and spent a lot of money for the fish I get, and it's just hard to give a extract spot up just to see a bunch of boats on it the next day. Well said.... And back to the topic...Congrats on your catch Stump!
Ketchup Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 Nice fish. Californians do things ALOT different than we do. Chalk this up to one of them. As stated, one of the benefits of fishing, is finding fish. That usually requires many hours of burning gas, time, etc. When that happens, it makes a guy pretty tight lipped. TinBoats BassClub. If I'm on fish I have no problem letting other anglers know. The whole idea of 'IM NOT TELLING ANYONE" just makes it hard for all of us who don't really know how to fish your lakes and rivers. If you guys really think your saving your best hole your wrong all you are doing is making guys like me less willing to share when we get on the fish....heck I am always willing to share when I'm on fish because that's what builds friendships this is a great sport don't try to keep it to yourself. You have posted here 4 times on this forum. And yet you've been around for over a year or more as I remember almost all of your posts. Have you shared any information or contributed to any discussions on the lake in trying to learn more? Shared anything? The guys on this forum that frequent it and post information have been around a long time and post information frequently. Sharing in discussions, learning from each other, and sometimes even privately giving away fish spots and tips. It's a network. It works. Sharing that network openly to where 500-800 views (people) quietly lurk and soak up info freely without contributing is in my mind.....well it's not sporting. And if you're only new to the area and not new to fishing, you probably know more than we do about stripers. I'm still a novice myself. Lance34 1 Need marine repair? Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted March 13, 2016 Root Admin Posted March 13, 2016 I learned a long time ago that if you want to send a bunch of people to a spot on a river or lake, post a good detailed fishing report here and they will come. 4262 unique users visited this forum on Friday... most are looking at the major lakes on this forum. But what you can take from all the information anglers have shared on this site, including articles and postings, is the useful knowledge and then apply it to your fishing trip. Before long, hopefully you'll be the one sharing info and pictures of big fish and then you can share "spots"... or not. trythisonemv, Lance34, 96 CHAMP and 2 others 5

Agreed. "Post it and they will come". And if someone is living here and calling this area home, it's "their lake" just as much as it is my lake. This area is a terrific area to live in and call "home". Besides, Scott posted enough threads, articles, how to use baits, what baits to use, where to fish, how to fish, how to hold your lip right, and when to spit on a lure that NO ONE should say no information is already given on THIS forum. I actually wish some of that information was taken down. I've seen it impact the lake A LOT since it was posted. What was a functioning system and bait selection is now what every Tom, Dick, &Harry uses and now that system does not work like it used too. Over-exposure. His heart was in the right place, but now even Scott struggles to catch fish these days. He over shared. I'm not intentionally trying to be rude. I'm simply disappointed by the amount of lurking and not sharing of information within recent year. I'm not advocating spots or lure selections. Just stating only the frequent posters share anything on this forum. Not many actually post a report or for that matter, ask questions wanting to learn how to do better. I've not posted information for a long time. And will not because like Dan, I don't get out often and when I do, I struggle and when I find success, I'm not going to tell "the fleet" where to go. Besides, I've gone back the next day and all the fish were completely gone. Left the entire cove. So in the end, it may or matter anyway because they move so quickly at times. Members deltakid Posted March 13, 2016 Members Posted March 13, 2016 Well now that I've been nicely told off I will shut up and never speak my mind again and in response to why I haven't shared anything here on all the fish I've caught well I haven't caught any so there make fun of that.If I sound a bit bitter maybe I am I posted what I felt and did it in a nice way I didn't need to be jumped on. So don't worry I won't bother to post again.
