Which begs the question, why would you need to bring 30-40 rods?

Don't you have a back seater bag to pack...

And the answer is...fairness. Some aren't equal, but by bringing them anyway they can pretend they are, without any actual achievement.

Boats are always a touchy subject Champ, but I think we were keeping it civil. I do agree though, use what you can have/afford. My main point was lots and lots of bass were caught when 17-18 foot boats with 150's were the gold standard. If that's what you have, it's plenty as long as you use common sense. You may not be able to run WOT across the biggest water on a sloppy day, but you can get out there and catch fish.

I agree 100 percent with this. I have a 184 with a 150 merc. Been on the lake many times where slow and steady gets me where I wanna be.

I have yet to figure out how to catch a fish doing 60. Many days I run 4500 rpms and sipping the gas with the ol 150 merc. Anymore they make thesẽ boats like chevy/ford it's more of a preference. All are great and serve there purpose to get us on and off the water safe and have a great time doing it.

Agreed in full, Cody. My motor stays in midrange more than it probably should, and Donna will vouch for that. I strive to remember to open it up once every 2-3 trips to keep the carbon blown out. And every now and then, there's a storm situation like the other day when it's nice to have 70 mph in reserve.

What does it matter what anyone else thinks about your boat and tackle? Let's all just enjoy the freedom to own and fish from what we want/can afford while we still can. The way things are headed, we may not always have that freedom.

Well said.

Just vote for Bernie.  He's going to tax ya 50%, but college, healthcare, and an ice cream sundae on your birthday at the local Tastee Freeze will all be free. Maybe we should unite and get him to add bass boats for all to his campaign platform...

Heck, I'm counting on it. Never got an Obama phone, maybe I'll get a Bernie Boat. Just because I want one, and someone else should pay for it so I feel complete.
