Went down to BSC today. I got a late start at around 9:00. The creek was up and murky but it paid off with my best day on the creek since I started fishing it. 10 or 11 fish with six of them being HUGE (for BSC anyway). Two of the bigger ones were 15 inches and the other four were in the 12 to 13-inch zone. I started with a rubber legged bead-head Pheasant-tail nymph and caught a few smaller fish and switched to a clown egg Glo-bug because of the murky water and that did it. the next three fish out of one hole with the biggest one first. Moved upstream and hit another hole and caught three more Blue Spring Specials. Some of the pictures. One of the pictures didn't come out and one fish squirmed out of my hand while trying to focus the camera but it was a sweet day.

You have learned well, grasshopper lol. Seriously, AWESOME job.

With the big ones, always look at the anal and pelvic fins to see if they are rubbed down or not. Yours are obviously wild fish with full fins. I have caught two larger ones that had the typical hatchery trout rubbed and ripped fins before. They had better colors than typical hatchery fish, and were "wildish", but I could see that something was off. Come to find out that Camp Mihaska stocks about 200 lbs of trout in the lakes around the springs every year for the kids to fish. When it rains the water raises enough for some to escape into the creek. Even the wild ones we catch that were born in the creek are descendants from fish that escaped into the creek from a Hatchery fish operation that was on the spring in the 1920's. The hatchery was finally shut down in the 50's when they sold the property to Salvation Army. Pretty cool the fish have been able to sustain themselves for almost a hundred years without additional stockings in the actual creek.

Well done bkb. Congrats!

I'd rather live my entire life, living as if there is a God and Jesus and to find out at the end that there isn't, than to live my entire life as if there is no God and Jesus and to find out at the end that there is.

JoeD, Funny I never even noticed the date stamp. We have had that camera sitting in a drawer for a long time and I charged it and snapped a few pictures before I went to BSC. Those were not old pictures they were taken just before that post. I will have to see about updating the time stamp.;)
