Alex Heitman Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 It is an algae bloom. This has been going on for the last couple weeks from KC to the dam abkeenan 1
dtrs5kprs Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 Pics? Sure it wasn't runoff from some red clay or red pea gravel?
Alex Heitman Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 Dave it is definitely an algae bloom. I have seen it for the last couple weeks and it can be bad in areas where the wind has been blowing. abkeenan and mixermarkb 2

m&m Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 The Branson Tri-Lakes news ran an article on it last Saturday. I couldn't get a link to the article but it quoted scientists from the Mizzou who sampled the water and said it is an algae bloom but also floating sediment from the earlier rain and the recent wind. They also said when the sunlight hits it the algae will bloom and it may last until later this month. Mike
Champ188 Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 Algae bloom indeed. Has a tannic acid coloration to it. Not sure what effect it has on the fish, as it seems to be only on the surface. But I don't care for fishing in it. Ready for it to go away. Grumpy53 1

mixermarkb Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 Same thing on Bull, but I don't mind it because it seems to hold keepers LOL dtrs5kprs 1
