mixermarkb Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 Lots. Fishing is still good, not as good as last week before the cool front(s), but even with a slower bite, I had 4 keepers with one about 4#'s yesterday, with my first topwater fish of the year coming in the evening, and a solid 15 pound or better limit this morning throwing a wart. Had a couple non keeps today throwing a spinnerbait in the mudline as well. Water temps are 55-58, with a few places bumping 60 in the afternoons. Points and transistion banks seem best, steeper than last week. Last bluff in the creek type stuff with wind blowing on it seemed to hold the best fish. Bite was definitely slower if I got past the fish too far back into the spawning areas. Good luck to all the derby guys in the next couple weeks, I think it's gonna be the 18th till I can get down again. Diamond City Fisher, Quillback, Fish24/7 and 1 other 4
Ham Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 Good for you man. You've certainly been putting out a full effort for them. I have Thursday off, but I have other things that need doing and I am just so tired of dealing with the high wind. I will likely fish 4 days next week and 4 or 5 days the week after that. My May is gonna suck though. mixermarkb 1 Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
mixermarkb Posted April 6, 2016 Author Posted April 6, 2016 I'm gonna come back and fish for sore mouthed fish and watch the Elite guys run around and practice on Monday and Tuesday the week after the kitty cat derby, unless life gets in the way. The wind has been tough, but if you get out there and deal, chances are really good at a LMB in the 4 pound class. It's almost been a daily thing, and I don't remember a time on Bull where that was possible. I don't think I'm all that much better of a fisherman, and as a matter of fact I know I was better a few years ago. Bull is just that full of healthy bass. I can't wait till the smallies really get going- the BASS guys are gonna have to put on a show to win this one I think- I think at least one 25 pound sack is possible- Ham, dtrs5kprs and Fish24/7 3

Fish24/7 Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 some of you guys would shi* if you saw how many fish i'm seeing lately with the AquaVu ,lol I can hardly believe it myself..I looked at one 50yd stretch of bank where we've been catching some crappie lately. Saw at least 400+ gills all sizes, some little bass, big crappie, catfish, carp. A guy could sit on that bank and catch bluegill all day long! (I might just do that, lol) Ham and mixermarkb 2
Fish24/7 Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 if we get the rain forecast for Monday and get some water running up in the backs the whites are gonna go bananas! mixermarkb 1
Bluff-Bassin Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 It's been a pretty decent week for me as well. These were from Monday and Tuesday. There are definitely a bunch of big ones willing to bite. Seems like a lot of different things working too My guess is 72lbs will win the elite. Lots and lots of boats out today compared to most weekdays. dtrs5kprs, mixermarkb, Fish24/7 and 2 others 5
mojorig Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 The Cystic Fibrous tournament is this weekend and BassCat Owners Tournament next weekend.
