Members crappie-hunter
Found some crappie on the banks last night. Fishing was slow until sundown, then it was on. Every once in awhile you could see the crappie swirling the water pretty good at different places in the back of the cove, they were making beds. Caught on minnows under a cork 18inches deep or so. The overall size is great this year, only caught 2 that were too small. Couldn't stay too long, kids wanted to go home, and we had enough to eat! There was a conservation agent checking live wells at the cc ramp when we got in. Only 3 females in this mess. good luck! tho1mas, terryj1024, zarraspook and 3 others

Ham
Glad that MDC was checking a little bit. Helps to keep people honest. I don't find enforcement. I'd prefer it not to reach the level of harassment. I have actually been checked on the Current river by agents before. I've also been checked on the Buffalo river three different times. slab slinger
Great report. Looks like you and your family had a blast. That female is a slab. Nice fish. Males are starting to darken up and that egg pic looks ready to drop. It's just around the corner. Should be on fire end of next week with the weather forecast. Nice job crappie hunter. crappie-hunter and bassfisher
Members crappie-hunter
The agent last night was not pushy and very polite. He looked in the live well but did not have me get any fish out to actually measure them (all were plenty big enough, and I obviously was not close to my qty limit). I have also been checked on the jacks fork of the current river, and they just asked a few questions to be sure we knew what the regulations were at that time. We were floating during the smallie catch and release only time frame. The only agents I've run across that were a pain in the @ss were in Oklahoma during the spoonbill run, they are pretty pushy and snoopy. bassfisher
dan hufferd
I have fished Stockton a bunch and never been checked. It wouldn't bother me at all. Some folks get pretty wound up about it. Thank you for the report ! LOGROG

Kramr
Congrats on the fishing. I agree, don't mind getting checked if it helps keep everyone legal. LOGROG and dan hufferd
