Now that is a monster...surely you didn't catch that out of the meramec?  My buddy and I will be hitting the meramec this weekend.  Thinking riverround or redhorse....I've floated almost all the meramec down to eureka, just not the redhorse area.  Grew up fishing Indian Creek but it's hard to float that area.  Nice stripper man, (thinking bullshoals)

I have caught many of these wipers from the Mississippi to meramec caverns.

yep, I am a grumpy old man, but I bet in 2 years you guys will be bitching and moaning why you can't catch a fish in that reach of the river.  Been there done that on fishing locations.  I would bet this site has 10 to 1, or more, lurkers in the STL area, who are realizing they have some good fishing/eating very close to home.

Will never happen....that stretch of river is a nightmare of jagged rocks,  mud,  and trash.  Anyone who sees these reports and actually tries it will most likely be hugely dissapointed.  This isn't stuff that average anglers can do....or at least below average anglers such as myself can do :)....trust me...I tried lol.  I still head down that way when the river is low enough,  who knows what you'll catch down there.

Jerry is right, I've never seen more jet boats in my life. It's very insidious, starts out slow. The Internet is a permanent record, people don't seem to get that through their noggin until it's too late. Social media, although very informative, sucks for fishing spots.

I very rarely see anyone on the river anymore. Especially on the lower reaches which by the way for the most part suck  I joined this forum to learn about what others are doing and where.  Maybe I joined for the wrong reason?

I don't understand what the big deal is...one, your going to need a jet....two if you have a jet you most likely can figure out where the best places already are... heck are first time in this section and was able to figure out where I wanted to fish just from looking at a map before I even left the house... we are on this site for knowledge....come on
