Just remember, the big females don't stay on the beds long, and the big ones seem to spawn the earliest.  Although male smallies can also get big, there will be some big ladies (although a little slimmed down) off the beds soon.

If possible, more info needed :)  How about a nice thread on the smallmouth spawn. Cause to me it's a strange uneventful hard time to fish.  Maybe cause I spend more time fishing the middle of the river and the current seams?

I second Hog Wally's question.  Despite the big fish, I'm struggling to figure out springtime fishing.  I would like to hear folks' advice.

Why does it seem like nowadays people who get into fishing have the need to know everything  right away without  putting their time in???

I'm not sure if some of you realize  how long some of us have been specifically  river fishing and how many trips some of us have taken over the years to accumulate our knowledge  base.

Sorry but it just seems like the new breed of fisherman wants everything  now with very little work put in IMO.

If you have a jet boat go out an explore on your own and find your own patterns, it will be much more rewarding  in the end.

I'm not looking for an easy way out. I've been reading lots of books and putting  time in on the water. I recognize I haven't been engaging in this sport as long as many of you. But, that's the point. You have knowledge about general patterns that can be helpful to people Ike me.

I'm not asking for the location of your honey holes. I would see that as inappropriate.  Seems to me that we are a community and I, for one, think sharing information is a reasonable  thing to do.  If you don't want to do so, that's fine.

I've truly been enjoying his forum, but if others share you opinion then I may be better off not using it

Most do not share his opinion, don't worry. And everything he has learned has been shown to him by somebody else.

This forum was created to help like minded people share information about the sport they love. If someone doesn't want to share their info then that is fine but they have no reason to act like a turd about it.
