bferg Posted May 2, 2016 Posted May 2, 2016 I get it- it isn't cheap. But the quality of the Cabela's apparel is MUCH higher than BPS (in my opinion). They have more stuff that is fitted, and just higher quality in general. I have been very impressed with all the apparel I have bought from Cabela's for both hunting and fishing. (But I don't have any $50 t-shirts- from anywhere) Ham and SpoonDog 2
jeb Posted May 2, 2016 Posted May 2, 2016 Cabela's has had a lot more sales the last year than in the past. When I lived in MN, we were not far from what I believe was their first store outside of Nebraska, in Owatonna. It was so rare to see anything on sale in there. Now in the Rogers, AR store, it's very common to see sale and clearance racks. Ham 1 John B 08 Skeeter SL210, 225F Yamaha
chi0082 Posted May 2, 2016 Posted May 2, 2016 I also like Cabela's over BPS. And it's funny Stump how I find Cabela's pricing a bit better than BPS, in fishing and hunting gear, not so much apparel. And Cabela's branded stuff are higher quality than the Redhead stuff in BPS, but that's rather subjective depending on who you ask. Just my experience anyways. Daryk Campbell Sr 1
Stump bumper Posted May 2, 2016 Author Posted May 2, 2016 I really don't buy much at either place, since Cabela's opened I have bought a total of 4 pks of jig heads and 2 spoons from there and one shirt that was on clearance out side the store. The last fishfinder I bought was off Walmart.com. Maybe it is just the fact that Bass Pro is more local and back in the days before the internet it was the bass pro catalog that I would order from even though I always got both. I did stop by and looked for some Z-man stuff the other day and they were out, then stopped by HL&S and they had plenty of what I was looking for and it made me wonder why I even drove over to Cabela's in the first place.
ness Posted May 2, 2016 Posted May 2, 2016 Don't you love it when anonymous sources start talking about buyouts? The deal has gotten a lot more expensive since it was first talked about last fall. Cabela's stock price bottomed out at $33 in October. Trading at $52 recently. Chief Grey Bear 1 John

Robert Haynes Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 That's funny, but I do remember a time when Arkansas got in and we felt like we were fortunate to get in it.
