JestersHK Posted May 2, 2016 Posted May 2, 2016 Takes a bit of the sportiness out of it, but was pretty neat to see them pull this off. Time to start hunting monster browns on Taneycomo LOL http://hackaday.com/2016/05/01/has-mankind-gone-too-far-with-drone-fishing/ Daryk Campbell Sr and Johnsfolly 2
Johnsfolly Posted May 2, 2016 Posted May 2, 2016 I've seen the RC boats that guys use to drop baits off above restricted areas in tailwaters. That is not as cool as seeing the strike from above. However, it does seem to take some of the sport out of the spot and cast.
dan hufferd Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 I don't know man ! Think about the vastness of the ocean, any edge a guy could get while fishing from the shore would be good. To bad that thing won't tell you where the walleye are.
MOBass Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 Guys have been paddling baits out in kayaks and before that surf boards. This takes it high tech. Flysmallie 1
hoglaw Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 It's just not possible to cast to these fish from the shore. This is awesome. It's really awesome that they get schooling tuna within a drone strike from the beach. Guarantee it will catch on, at least in some circles. And I'm sure these guys aren't the first to do it.
Johnsfolly Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 I could see guys getting rid of kite fishing for sailfish and employing drones instead. Should be able to see the pods of fish from above then drop that ballyhoo.
Flysmallie Posted May 4, 2016 Posted May 4, 2016 Going to take a decent drone to be able to do it. Not sure if I want a grand hovering out over the ocean. It would be cool to get one that would carry a wiggle minnow out as far as I could and then just drop it. That would be much better on my heart than wading with the sharks.
