Wow.  What an effort!  Thank you so much.  As a COE retiree (KC District) I can certainly relate to the "blank stare" comment.  There were times I felt certain that we invented the entire concept.  And, we certainly provided considerable encouragement for the "forgiveness vs. permission" approach.  A lot of really good people doing a lot of really good things, but, man, the bureaucracy!

Going forward I gotta think that this data will be useful to analyze and forecast fish movements and lake conditions in ways that weren't possible in the past.  Can't wait for the next surprise!

Thanks again Ben!

Vernon,

You are right! It was almost as if no one ever came in to actually ask if they could do something before..ha. So, I just stopped trying to ask and made sure to over do my electrical safe guards. They do a very good thing in my opinion, just a big, slow moving operation. Has to be that way I think!

And yes, we are storing every reading from each sensor each hour in a database, so we'll be able to put together a nice playground of temperature data for historical, site comparison, averages, etc..should be neat to be able to see month over month, year over year, line chart of a time frame, etc.

Ben - Pretty cool. Looking at you map I can now see the places that folks are posting about on TR. I do see an opening in your map right around Lilly's Landing. Maybe Phil would let you put in a sensor around their dock.

There's a USGS and MDC temp sensor across the lake... Ben and I talked about it.

Yep, Phil is pretty covered by the USGS, as are most rivers.
