Mitch f Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 If you know where he was hiding, my guess is you could go right back and get him again soon. Use 25 lb test and Super line Gamakatsu EWG. Horse him in. That's a huge fish "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor

fishinwrench Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 Pull up Google Earth and look for those clearer sloughs and backwater areas with some depth. Rock or rip-rap with vegetation nearby......oh buddy! marcus 1

ollie Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 I lived in Alton for a couple of years. All I ever saw anybody fish for was either catties or carp. I know a LOT of big catties have been caught by the feed mill next to the river. Cool you hooked into a big bass! marcus 1 "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!
snagged in outlet 3 Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 I put my pond prowler in the Alton slough on the north side of 67 a few years ago. It looked very fishy but I only fished for about 30 minutes. I look over and two young gentleman are trying to break into my truck. I trolled right behind them and asked if they needed help. They gave me a funny look and then hopped in their car and took off. I packed it in and left. Pete

Pete thats why i wanna move to lake of the ozarks or table rock you dont hear about that kind of stuff happening out of those areas...pretty sad you gotta worry about your car or truck everywhere you fish around st.charles and st.louis
snagged in outlet 3 Posted May 25, 2016 Posted May 25, 2016 Yeah I'd like to live closer to the fishing I prefer. Tablerock would be first choice.
