drs7558 Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 Whats up with dingy water on the Rock. We haven't been to the lake since March. The lake was dingy then to. A knee replacement has kept me closer to home lately. I'M not used to seeing the water in this condition. We have a place in the Kimberling City area. Dingy water all around. Is it just so much rain and weather, or is it something else. Maybe its nothing, I don't know. If you have an opinion let me know. I'm guessing it will clear up, I hope.
Quillback Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 I blame it on the high water we had this winter. Lots of "nutrients" were washed into the lake. How is that knee replacement doing? Looking at one for myself. drs7558 and dtrs5kprs 2
Sprint21fter Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 I would take it as a blessing in disguise, fish that end of the lake shallower than you normally would. Largemouth will get to act like largemouth and get super shallow. Seth 1
Alex Heitman Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 Sprint I thought the same thing 2 weeks ago and they were still out in 15-20 ft dtrs5kprs and OldMillRoad 2
dtrs5kprs Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 Color around 13 almost seems to be the new normal. Used to be clear most of the time, anymore seems like a coin flip.
Ellros Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 It's most likely all the rain. The recent gully washers we have had have washed A LOT of debris down into the water. The back end of our cove at the looked like someone had dumped a couple tons of mulch into the water.
drs7558 Posted June 5, 2016 Author Posted June 5, 2016 Quillback, sorry about the late response on "hows , the knee replacement". Been having a lot of doctors visits lately. A knee replacement is no fun. A year and a half later and I'm still not right. Just recently been diagnosed with Parkinson's. Knee surgeon thinks the recent Parkinson's may have complicated my recovery. I've had the Champion out several times, but not been able to fish. Goin down to the Rock next week, we'll see how it goes. May even try the Ned Rig. dtrs5kprs 1

They look to be eating the little guy, if our post dinner escape to the dock was an indication. 2 decent blacks and a spot that would have all measured, plus several shorts and a pile of various perch type critters. Water is definitely colored up. And somehow, I made my kid look like he has hobbit legs in a pic. Ham, Champ188, Map Guy and 2 others 5
