JestersHK Posted May 27, 2016 Posted May 27, 2016 Than getting to fish with my kiddos. They grow up way to quick, and I'm trying to cherish every chance I get to have days like this. Few weekends ago we had a big cousins campout over at Rend lake in IL. Although we got rained on and it was a bit chilly for mid May we had a blast. I personally only caught a few bluegill, 1 Channel, and a small drum, but my Little crew caught some nice gills and made some memories. All of my girls have caught their first fish on my original Zebco snoopy rod my Grandma gave me as a kid. Thing is still going strong over 30 years old and a few rebuilds of the reel and it will always have a special place in our family. My oldest is quite the trout catcher and she can always put fish on a stringer! She's already a great fishing partner at 11 and hopefully we can get her a deer this year too. My middle ones 7 and she's the animal lover and will tolerate fishing with me, but would rather hang out and enjoy the outdoors, and my little one at 4 is catching on pretty quick. This was her 2nd time getting into some blue gill and catching them on her own. She's hooked as well now. Just thought I'd share, and take those kiddos fishing whenever you can! Forgot to add that the camp sites at Rend on the South Sandusky side are amazing. Great views spacious, quiet and reserved at night and just overall a great camping experience.
