I don't know about any records for meanmouth but it was the biggest one I have ever seen and it was 21 1/2 inches long. I thought it was a smallmouth at first but then seen the lateral stripes.

That's a nice mean.  The state record is 5 lbs. 10 oz.

Sweet, glad you all  got them so good.   That is just an amazing weekend.  It is especially good in the fact that there was no water movement to speak of.  No wind and they did not have the water running all weekend on Taney.  I was down there every morning until 10 AM and it was flat as a mill pond.  Trout bite well also.

Whackfest! 

Huntest's grandson caught what is very likely the biggest meanmouth most of us will see last summer. Should be able to find the post from last year. Something crazy like 23", and deep through the body. They get a little bigger than we give them credit for.

This is the fish Wyatt caught last year. She was 23" with thick shoulders and heavy girth. We did not have a good scale but took a lot of pictures and measurements. She was released promptly and swam away.

The taxidermist that did the replica is a marine biologist that got his degrees from Kansas State and when he ran his calculations he estimated 6lbs 7oz.

I forgot about that huge meanmouth you guys caught. That is just a huge fish!

3.98 was weighed in at Eagle rock Saturday, I fished a benefit last April and big fish for that tournament was 4.52 meanie.

This weekend (hopefully) I trade my boat for money and soon I will have the new craft (I am thinking of ordering a boat name for the back, Last Boat II).
