Make sure you either keep it well fed or don't put anything in with it that is smaller than it. I had 4 darters in with it and a couple of small craws and they are all missing.

Sorry I just got back from a week of fun in the sun. I'll get some more pics posted soon. Right now I have a algae problem that I need to recruit some snails to take care of. Had a bunch in there last year that kept it really clean but I didn't regulate the population so they basically ate themselves out of food and became extinct. I need some new gills and craws too.

Very cool.  I've been thinking of setting one up myself with some sunfish and some craws.  Seen a few cold water tanks too with some trout in them, but man looks like allot of work.

Yeah I've looked at the chillers but the sunfish are a lot easier to keep. Also looked at doing a saltwater tank but it's hard to beat the beauty of a sunfish so why go to the extra trouble to have nemo and dory when you can have a good looking gill.

I hear that.  I do enjoy salt water, and apparently with a dual tank setup are less maintenance, but I think a native species tank is just awesome, and some of the sunfish I've caught this year already have had some spectacular color to them.
