Chief Grey Bear Posted July 5, 2016 Posted July 5, 2016 I bought up the same point a few years ago. But was rebuffed. According to Al, they can't target fish like giggers can. Which I dont necessarily disagree with. But there are a ton more of these types legally and illegally keeping large smallmouth. And any other fish. It's a numbers game. But at any rate, somebody ain't getting their jig heads. Sorry Brian but with all due respect in your #3 from the meeting in Farmington. ...you were fed a line of total BS or that agent was only stopping people on HWY 67 that were only traveling to Arkansas and not fishing. You have to get in line at Bluff View in the Winter and when I have gone there the fisherman were keeping the bass. This is just more example of the MDC trying to play upon you're ignorance. Honestly if the agent in that area said that, he should not have his or hers job....they are either inadequate at their job or completely lying and just having a picnic in the woods everyday until the state calls.

You mean that an employee of a government agency would feed a line of BS to a taxpayer???????? What in the hades is this world coming to?????? Read 5, 6, 7, and 8 if you really want some entertaining responses............... Pretty sure that the only reason the MDC hosted those meetings was to bait concerned anglers into arguments that they could win. Regarding the fishing above Bluffview; have at it. I have several buddies with lake boats who fish down there in the winter and their best days are VERY average compared to the winter smallie fishing on the 'mec. I'll stick to the 'mec and its solitude in the winter and leave the merry go round at Bluff View to the poor saps that don't have river runners.................. Hog Wally and Smalliebigs 2

Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted July 7, 2016 Root Admin Posted July 7, 2016 Were these bass kept in the same river/stretches you guys made your float on?

I don't believe so but we are not positive. The guy who caught and kept them is from the Centreville/Black area, so he may have been up in one of the forks of the Black.
