Well, I drove over to old 86 ramp to put in about 5am Saturday morning.  It was raining pretty good.  As I drove to the curve right were the ramp starts I noticed a Red SUV parked on the ramp facing the water.  People must have been sleeping it off because they did not respond to my lights flashing or the horn.  So I went over to Moonshine and put in there. I fished the cove next to point 1.  There were 4 other boats in there so I decided to fish out from the docks on the left side heading into the cove.  I noticed a few balls of shad over deeper water and watched as the bass started busting them with a feeding frenzy.  I caught a few short LMs and spots.  After a while it stopped raining and I started throwing the horny toad.  I had 5 blow ups on it that were hitting it short and ripped off the leg each time.  So I concentrated on the shad balls.  I tried a lot of different lures but eventually a small square bill crank bait worked.  I managed to catch a good number with one keeper in the picture attached.  This was going well and I was sitting right out from 2 docks waiting for the next blow up.  All of a sudden a rental pontoon from the state park marina loaded with adults came into the cove and appeared to want to park at one of the docks.  I stopped fishing for a minute to allow him to park.  But he did not park rather he drove between the two docks and turned around between me and the bank.  Then they headed back out pushing water and i knew it was time to leave.  Anyway I was able to fish for a couple of hours with my plan B, caught a few shorts and a nice keeper on a square bill.

now you know why i just go at night.  i would be in jail if i fished during the day this time of the year.  i am just getting way too old and cranky.

Are you freakin' kidding me? Someone parked in ON the ramp at 86 blocking anyone from launching and loading? If that were me I'm not driving to Moonshine and someone is getting an authority called on their arse. Surprised that the park attendant's or someone else staying at the park had not seen that and called a park ranger, game warden ,tow truck, water patrol or police. SOMEONE that can rectify the situation. That is a load of crap. Person should have just kept driving before they decided to throw it in park in the middle of the ramp.

Kinda off the topic but 86 used to (maybe 4+ years ago?) have two ramps one on each side of the courtesy dock and then they went and screwed it all up royally for no reason. Cut it down to one side and then dumped about 50,000 tons of chunk rock on the other side of the ramp. No clue as to why the COE did that but then again I don't understand a lot of things that they do.

I am with Abs on calling in someone to get the knuckle heads off the ramp - while I am driving to Moonshine so I didn' have to sit and wait for their arrival.

Let me clarify, I'm talking about the Old 86 Ramp off Dale Rd off 265/165, not the one on the other side of the lake by the campground.  It is in Jakes Branch.

Gotcha. I know the ramp. Doesn't change anything though. I am still calling someone to get that clown off the ramp.
