vonreed Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 I was wondering if anybody knows if there is any kind of an access around the Falls on the White River. I floated by there 2 years ago and saw some kind of a building there. I was wondering if that is some kind of an access or not? Thanks.
Russell Doughty Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 River of Life Farm is at the falls and will let you on their place for a fee or rent you a canoe. Google them.
Ham Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 I "usually" put in at Hammonds camp and take out at Sunburst or Blair Bridge. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
vonreed Posted July 11, 2016 Author Posted July 11, 2016 Thanks for the replies guys. I got ahold of them today. I didn't realize they would charge so much to access the river though. I might just do the float instead like usual.

vonreed Posted July 12, 2016 Author Posted July 12, 2016 When I asked the guy who answered the phone, he quoted me numbers on how much he pays in taxes and such which I found odd. Then he said he thought $30 would be about correct. And to mention that price when I came so they knew how much to charge me. I guess they've never considered just plain access to the river before without canoe rental or lodging.

Ham Posted July 12, 2016 Posted July 12, 2016 $2.00 to launch at Hammond Camp, and zero dollars to take out at Blair Bridge or Patrick Bridge. Just saying. I hope there was some kind of a misunderstanding. $30.00 for wade in access. Nahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted July 12, 2016 Root Admin Posted July 12, 2016 IMO - it's better to not allow non guests to use private land access instead of charging, especially that much. But in their defense, they have a lot of $$$ invested in that land/buildings and have expenses that not many people consider, ie. taxes, insurance, common maintenance. ness 1
ness Posted July 12, 2016 Posted July 12, 2016 Myron always struck me as an opportunistic kinda guy. Not in a bad way, just looking to make a buck anyway he can. But, I think I agree with you Phil -- better to just not allow folks than to alienate people and/or get bad press. You can also put in at Kelly Ford about a mile-and-a-half upstream from him. John
