Ever see a hummingbird nest ? We had one here in the house for about 20 yrs. Do not know where it is currently. They are very very good at building a nest. They build them out of spider webs then stick litchen on the outside for camo. The  inside of the nest is about the size of your four finger. A spider webs wrapped around a branch as they do over and over make a almost indestructible nest and the lichen camo is something very hard to see. I remember one in a tree just off our deck that went through a terrible storm with no problem. Your really lucky to ever see one. For the most part they nest high up in trees. I see them at times collecting spider web for nest from the rafters in my dock in the spring.

if you want to see one up close sit down in a chair with a red baseball hat on around a feeder and you might eve inches from your face. We have done that several times. The grand kids love it.
