Caught this gal on a white woolly bugger. Weighed 5.4 lbs on my hand scale. She was spewing eggs as she swam away which seemed strange for this time of year.

Water was pretty dirty from all the rain.

That is just a giant rainbow! It does seem early for her to have ripe eggs. Great job on a great fish!

Wow, that is a biggun for sure.  I read somewhere that the genetics on hatchery rainbows are screwed up and that's why you might see spawners at any time of the year.

Probably true.

Now that I think about it, I see males dripping milt all year.
