netboy Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 Caught this gal on a white woolly bugger. Weighed 5.4 lbs on my hand scale. She was spewing eggs as she swam away which seemed strange for this time of year. Water was pretty dirty from all the rain. laker67, ollie, dan hufferd and 3 others 6
Johnsfolly Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 That is just a giant rainbow! It does seem early for her to have ripe eggs. Great job on a great fish!
snagged in outlet 3 Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 That's a freak!! Nice one too. I think I've seen hatchery trout spew eggs in just about every month of the year.
Quillback Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 Wow, that is a biggun for sure. I read somewhere that the genetics on hatchery rainbows are screwed up and that's why you might see spawners at any time of the year.

Now that I think about it, I see males dripping milt all year.
