oneshot Posted January 14, 2018 Posted January 14, 2018 Ok not so much to do with trash but as a young person remember many more deep holes because gravel was taken out and we caught many fish in these holes. oneshot
Gavin Posted January 15, 2018 Posted January 15, 2018 In-stream gravel mining is never good. Biggest myth in the Ozarks is "Gotta get the gravel outta those cricks". In-stream mining It just increases the erosion upstream and will refill with gravel in a short time. Streams need a big stand of trees on the bank to limit erosion and maintain their health. That is contrary to most landowner's wants, so it does not happen very often. They want a river view or more pasture...then wonder why the stream bank erodes away rapidly.
