I've had a good full dose of rain lately. We just dodged it at practice last night, high school game was called in the 1st qtr for lightning.

Fortunately we were up 46-0. Didn't need any more of that.

Didn't those guys lose like 82-0 last week?  Sounds like a divine intervention in order to avoid a mercy killing. The liberals in the crowd must not been at all happy. Hard to spin, "we're all winners here" out of that deal.

Was thinkin - I attended many a high school football game over the years. Been rained on, snowed and sleet on and whatever else Kansas weather can think up this time of the year but remain befuddled by how many games have been called due to lightning in recent years

Were we all just that oblivious to the electrical dangers of thunderstorms back then or is this simply and purely  atrributable to global warming?

I think we just have more lawyers now.

And yes, Ward lost by something like 80 on their opener. I was at practice and missed it. Apparently we forced back to back safeties and had two or three kick returns for scores in a row. Hard to imagine. Friend who played college ball down south and is dialed in went. He said he'd never seen anything like that.

Bingo. Why didn't I think of that. Too much MSNBC I guess!

Too bad about Ward. They've had some pretty dang good athletic programs over the years. Nobody needs to be beat down like that.  Seems like there's a real disparity growing among a lot of high schools in the area and their ability to stay relevant and be competitive. See Imac for example.

Keep coachin' em' up though.  The world needs ditch diggers too!
