Fished 8:00 AM to 1:30 today.

Started out fishing top water and soon settled on a buzz bait. Caught 6 in two hours and each was a solid 12 to 14 inches. More misses than connects. Did better in the creeks than at the points at the mouth.

When the sun started to burn through the fog I switched to trolling a flicker shad on flat edges. I found several deep schools of fish while doing that and used a spoon to test them. More spotted bass of the same size. I went back to trolling and caught this guy.

He managed to hook up both his lower and upper jaw on the treble. Destroyed the hook getting it out.

With that I moved to a different flat edge and worked a worm harness in 20 to 25 feet of water.

Caught more bass, including a keeper, a bluegill, and finally this guy.

He turned out to be a tail pinch 25 inches. Immediately after that I hooked another but half way in, poof, it was gone. I took that as a sign and came in.

Water temp 79 to 81.

Was the cat on a flicker shad?  I've wrecked a number of flicker shad trebles removing them from a variety of fish.  Not the greatest hook quality, IMO.
