lmt out Posted September 24, 2016 Posted September 24, 2016 We went today pretty slow had 10 keepers and 9 shorts. All of the walleye were released. 14 to 16 ft. Harnesses. I sure do miss having my days off being Tuesday and Wednesday. This Saturday and Sunday stinks to many inconsiderate people on the lake. But it is fun watching the idiots beach there boats in the flats. I know that's mean but when they go by u at 30 yards when your fishing kind of fun to see them hit the mud. dan hufferd, zarraspook, tho1mas and 5 others 8
Kramr Posted September 25, 2016 Posted September 25, 2016 I think we all have had bad experiences with rec boaters. Not sure what is worse, how close they come some times, how much they churn up the water, or how much noise they can make. Realize they have as much right to be there but wish they were more aware of us who are fishing and give us a wide berth.

I grew up on the ROCK , Shell Knob. My dad and I built a cabin before the final closure on the dam.1956. By 2000 you had to pick a number to fish a good bank most nights. I certainly understand your frustration. On a Sunday in 2000 my grandson and I were almost swamped by the pleasure craft while in a twenty foot bass boat. I pray that Stockton doesn't become the next LOZ or ROCK. I have been fortunate not to have experienced a lot of bad manners even on the weekend and really appreciate the ability to fish midweek. Thanks for all your positive reports Home of the the dam of 2009 AKC National Debry Champion.--AMMOAMMO

Can you even cast 90 ft with any accuracy. Better yet just what do you consider yourr area and why does ir have to be that size. Kind of hard for me to understandwhen sometimes he area I am fishing is very small even as small as inches mikeak 1
MOPanfisher Posted September 26, 2016 Posted September 26, 2016 I know I repeat this a lot but, having had bass fishermen, white bass fishermen, crappie fishermen, trollers, catfishermen, jet skis etc. encroach where I was fishing any number of times I just don't get anything more than slightly annoyed anymore. There is nothing you can do, they are perfectly legal and yes they have the same right to fish the area I do, so what benefit is it to let it get to you. 9 times out of 10 even when they are encroaching they are moving fast and go right on through and don't really bother me other than the annoyance factor. Amazing how many times I will catch a fish before they are even out of sight. Some areas are worse, Sapps Landing on the Pomme Arm of Truman is fairly narrow with lots of stumps along the edges. Many times in the fall we have been working the stumps catching nice keeper crappie, as boats trolling for white bass go up and down the channel, we talk to them on every pass, even showing them crappie we are catching, but they happily keep on catching white bass, fairly often we will catch as many whites as they do while crappie fishing. Everybody has their own way of fishing, and everyone has a different view of what encroaching on another person is. Don't let it ruin a perfectly good day fishing. An inconsiderate A-hole is just that. DOesn't mean all those fishing, boat riding, skiing, etc. are. You obviously have not bass fished around me when I'm trolling. I don't work an area that has someone fishing it already. I'll come back when they are done as I have several spots to fish. What happens frequently is I'll be trolling a point, drop, hump, etc. and will have other fisherman stop and start fishing on the same structure. When I make my turn to work back over it they best refrain from from saying anything bad as I was there before them and will explain that fact if need be. Courteous fisherpeople may get some advice on color, depth, etc. Jerks get nothing.

Kind of hard for me to understandwhen sometimes he area I am fishing is very small even as small as inches I never said anything was my area but when you r fish in in a area that is probably a 1/2 mile to 3/4 wide. Why would someone run wide open by people that r visibly fishing when then could be running deeper safe water. We even had a huge cabin cruiser come by us at 30 yards. And yes I realize they have every right to be there just like I do. But come on. Use a little common sense. It the area was narrow I would understand that. But I was on the flats between b5 and b7. There is a lot of room to roam there. It is almost like they say hey there is some fishermen let's buzz them. I truly don't think most of them know they r even doing it. I have no problem with people trolling near us or anything like that just people flying by at 50 mph so close you could hit them with a cast. When there is plenty of room to make it much more safe.
