Got a late start and you can see I'm the one that bled for the team this trip.    Fun day, however, long and not easy.  Ended up with 31, but it took all day to do it.  First two fish caught were keepers and the second one exacted revenge on me when I swung it right into my leg.  Yes, that is a lot of freckles.

Going to let Champ188 fill in the details.  Oh, Pepe, I'm out of Lumpy Craws.  The bass were loving 'em.  Me, too.  I like the meaty body and big segments and pincers have a good swimming action.

Hmmmm, details? Line size ranged from 6 to 17 pound test. Both mono and fluorocarbon. Falcon, Duckett and Lew's rods from 6-9 M-Fast to 7-6 M-Fast. Ranger Z-119 boat, Mercury Pro-XS 225 engine, Minn Kota Fortrex 101 TM, Humminbird and Lowrance electronics.

Seriously, covered lots of water ranging from flat gravel to sheer bluffs. Lures were finesse and fb jigs, squarebill and medium-diving cranks (nothing on either) and spinnerbaits. All fish were pretty shallow ... nothing deeper than 15 feet.

Sounds like you guys had a fun day. Did the low water help, hurt or made no difference? Donna, ouch!! But nice picture of a healthy fish. Champ, thanks for the details.

The low water helped and will continue to help into fall. Makes the fish more accessible.

I think the low water helped, Mike. I'm originally from Texas and never saw a clear highland reservoir until moving to Arkansas.  When I learned to bass fish, I knew nothing about structure.  We were all very cover oriented.  It's still hard for me to fish something I can't "see."  So, I like this.  The low water has made a lot of shallow wood visible.  I caught a good number of finesse jig fish on little sticks and laydowns right on the bank.

Thanks for the report.  You and Champ need to start using baits without hooks on them, it would be much safer for you two!!!!!

Covered miles of water as well from Pt 20 to mouth of both rivers and every thing in between.  Had several bites but no come and get it eaters. Plopper,spook fish. Lots of schooling way out in the main channel today. But caught dinner on a spoon today. Come on cooler weather!

I think they are both KVD wannabes. His paycheck might have been a little larger...........maybe worth the pain.
