trythisonemv Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 Looks like ill have some time at the end of January to finally get on the water again. I am planning on heading to north fork. I am wondering g where would be good to launch kayaks to f she for trout. Also we are gonna camp as well if the weather isn't terrible. Any suggestions for launch and take out and possible shuttles would be greatly appreciated.
Gavin Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 North Fork of the White in MO or Norfolk Tailwater in AR? Call Sunburst if in MO. No fun to float that AR tail water in small craft if they run water. Nothing to hit, but no place to stop. Ham 1
Ham Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 I typically fish when it is warmer and do Hammond Camp to Sunburst. I catch SMB and then trout. You can camp at Sunburst and Justin can shuttle you. Justin at Sunburst can make more knowledgeable suggestions trythisonemv 1 Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. Cheap camping and you can float to their camp or to the landing from SBR depending on the float you chose. Thinking about heading back soon myself. trythisonemv Posted January 14, 2017 Author Posted January 14, 2017 So aside from a shuttle what do i need toknow about the northfork ? I heard they have a lot of stone fly and caddis.
Ham Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 You need to be prepared to get flies down quickly and keep them down in high current. trythisonemv 1 Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
Brian Sloss Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 Call Sunburst. Kelly ford to Sunburst and then Sunburst to their lodge just above Dawt Mill. Stoneflies and other nymphs fished deep along with some streamers. You will want to wade some, but be careful, there are a lot of slick spots on that river. Have fun trythisonemv 1 www.elevenpointflyfishing.com www.elevenpointcottages.com (417)270-2497
