I am not sure how this knot performs, but this is entertaining to watch.

He is cutting the line 3 times, so in all actuality he just tied a standard clinch knot with a dead piece of line tangled within it.  The doubled line going thru the eye of the bait is useless in this case.  It may be acting as a cushion of sorts but I don't like it.

I liked GS in the beginning, but his ongoing "reality show star" schtick has become annoying to me.  I kinda wish someone would go ahead and give him a spot on Moonshiners or Duck Dynasty so he can further his desired career.

I didn't understand the need for the knot, what about a good old palomar is it that much tougher to tie on a jig? I use it all the time. I don't watch much fishing TV other than youtubers so I have no idea who this guy is (sorry fishing dude), but he is making a living fishing, so he has my dream job...I think.

I am with you. Most of all this knot tying chitter on here fot other than fly fiherman is for looking  cool while posting on O A. I use a polamar on everything are a clinch. Except on drop shot. I am more concerned with line abrazion and hook eye construction causing breaking.

I use a uni knot on everything, nearly all the time, Lazy I guess. I occasionally use a palomar .

Paloma's is fine knot for mono flouro and especially braids

gman is  crazier than a marine mechanic.    For me. He's really I care to watch other than Kennedy.        But that knot was invented in heavy waves like rollers  in Michigan I believe.  he just ties it a bit different .   They would take both hands push them to gether and oscillate the wrists making the jig head swing in quick circular motion. Then insert tag - wet and pull trim. All while hanging on in boat with there knees (lol )

Problem with fluorocarbon and the Palomar knot is that if the line crosses itself when you tie it the line will cut into itself when it's cinched down and render the knot useless and you will break off a lot.  If you make sure the lines don't cross and tie the Palomar carefully it works wonderfully with any kind of line.

Good video about this:

Another  thought is  retying when necessary  and  checking your line  texture  before this process

but how many times have you snagged

snatched it off or pulled hard until you free your self    Retrieved it  and cast back out  again

when this occurs you tremendously  cinch your line against its self  and damage it

I look at it like I just pulled 70'pounds against my 15 pound line    At this point I cut and retie  every time before I cast

this minimizes break offs
