Looks like I will be going with a friend down to Table Rock in late February. What would be a couple good line/lure set-ups to have tied on?

Will I need to respool with flouro? Could the more economical braid w/flouro leader work?

I have 4 baitcasters, 2 on medium heavy rods, 2 on medium. I will probably pick up a spinning set-up before the trip as well as I have wanted one for a while anyway.

Thanks for any help! Apologies if this is not the correct place to post this.

This is a good place to ask.  For your spinning set up you can't go wrong with a Ned rig that time of year.  Here's a link to another OA forum, on page 2 are a couple of Ned videos from Dtrs5kprs the OA Ned guru.

10# fluorocarbon on the M's would cover cranks and sticks. #12-15 on the MH for a FB jig. Might want something heavier if you intend to throw the chandelier.

Ned is hard to beat on 6# fluoro. Saves a lot of trips. You can run braid and a leader. Just be prepared for wind problems.

Any suggestions on a spinning set up for the ned rig? Rod/reel combo or separate would be fine. Sub 200$ would be best, 150$ would be better.

Thanks for the advice!

Most 6'6"-7' ML sticks will work, and double as a grub/DS rod. If you have an Academy close, the Daiwa Laguna in that range is super cheap, about $30. One of the best factory sticks is a St Croix Eyecon, ML. That one is $120ish. A good 3000 size reel for fluoro, like the $50-80 Daiwas. Most 2500 size reels will work if you run braid.
