Low water + coming rain = floating debris from MDC

Taking a few walks on the exposed Lake bank in our sudden warmth the last few days.  Quickly became obvious ALL the MDC brush piles I saw will become boating hazards when and if the Lake rises from our predicted 4 days of rainfall. 

The rope they used years ago to tie-down the brush and trees to the concrete-filled blocks with the steel cables embedded in them used as weights has rotted away and the brush and trees are no longer secured to the concrete blocks.  The wood has most-likely dried enough to re-float it when and if the Lake rises and any Winter Anglers should keep a sharp eye out for low-floating debris.

Looking at several national weather centers and their forecasts for the next 5 days, I don't see where we're supposed to get a lot of rain.  The most I see over a 7 day period is 4 inches and that's not really over SW Missouri but more towards Kansas.

Last night the guy from KNWA was saying we could get 2 - 4" here in NWA.  But that was a maybe, so who knows?

If we get that all at once - yea you'll see flash floods and floating stuff.  But over 2-3-4 days, it'll be a nice, well needed rain.  Doubt if it raises the lakes much at all.  Most will soak in.

I see where the Spgfld National Weather Service office has backed way off on the rainfall potential from previous forecasts they issued.  They were saying anywhere from 2 to 4 inches previously but have now cut it back to 1/10" to just 1/4" each day.  They were originally talking about possible flooding concerns from heavy, continuous rainfall but that small amount of rain won't even produce any run-off.  

This storm system is very changeable and unpredictable and their computer programs do not have a good handle on it at all.

Back to the floating debris.......Are you serious? Are you slamming mdc or just looking out for all of the boaters out there right now?  Sounds like a rant, but I might be wrong. No matter what the conditions are, most on this forum can navigate a few, if any "from mdc" floating obstructions.    Mdc brush piles are a very worth wile project.   If you haven't fished them, try it!

Even if the ropes break, and the brush moves, the blocks won't. Keep those gps'd and fish them like stumps. Lot of those might be the only high spots on flat stretches.

You can tell its wintertime & most everybody is stuck at the house. I would rather dodge so called floating debris than sit on the couch & hear my wife nagg constantly. At least, if I run over the debris it wont start an argument with me. Heck, you might bring some rope so you can resink that stuff. Theres always an upside to free brush.

Jeremy Rasnick....yeah, in this case, you're wrong...dead wrong !  Try and give guys a little "heads up" based on first hand observations and weather forecasts on here and get nailed with accusations about "ranting" and "slamming mdc".  Try being polite, not jumping to conclusions and not slamming others whom you don't know anything about with accusations.  Your negative remarks contribute nothing and only cause hard feelings ! And yeah, "I'm serious"....my formerly teen-aged Daughter's most commonly used comment.

TrophyFishR....we're so very glad to learn running over floating debris, at speed, just below the surface won't bother whatever you happen to fish out of.  Hope you realize you can get off your couch, get away from your Wife that puts up with you, walk the banks and bring your own rope ?
