That thing has caught a fish or two :o

It was brand new at the start of the day. ?

I'm a little anxious to see how the 2-Tap compares to the original this year.  As soon as the backend water hits 50° it's on.

Y'all did better than I did today. I caught only 3. All on a wiggle wart in shallow water. We put in at pb2 and went all over the glaize. It was tough for us today. Water temp was from 45-51 where we were.

Secret   I have caught some dandys on that Old Red Eye...    Fishing today was a little tougher No wind this morning made a big difference. Didn't have long to fish but i went out to swing at them... Tough bite for sure for me. I didn't fish for those green fish very long..  I then took my neighbor to catch some crappie and we caught some nice ones for the skillet. Crappie Corn meal and a skillet of oil... What can be better than that.

Off the water now for a while heading to St. Louis for some repairs and maintenance on my back.     Enjoy your spring fishing ! Be back in a little while.... Big Ed Out!

Yeah you'll spend plenty of time retrieving hang-ups, no doubt.

I finally got out for 5 hours today, beginning about noon, and when I saw 55° at the Gravois ramp I got pretty excited.  Grabbed the Redeye and went right to work.   Today they were all on the shallow wood cover, but that isn't always the case. Sometimes they are just cruising the shallows and you just have to rip that RedEye close enough to one.  She'll definitely take a swat at it.

I ended my little trip with 7 keepers, the best 5 I guess in the 15-16 lb. range.  Here's a few of the better ones. IMG_20170221_151807.jpgIMG_20170221_132612267.jpgIMG_20170221_131218260.jpg

And look at the gut on this one !!!  IMG_20170221_172601726.jpg

I had a couple guys down for a couple days and they said no bass rods in the boat, only crappie. We struggled mightily with only catching around 9 or 10 a day. Seemed like they didn't want anything moving cause most were on a slow fall and mostly in condo docks around 8 to 10 foot deep. The ones we caught ate good though ?. Good time with good friends, we will get them next time.

Off the water for a few weeks more.. My surgery went well but I am sore as a hammer hit thumb.. But getting better by the day..I will post fishing info as I get it...

Big Ed

I am going to post a few pictures as soon as I can figure out how to size them properly.  This picture was my Big eyed Molly hog of the year.. I caught this fish on a Zoom 10.5 Old monster worm.. Scale said 8/6 fished released alive and well. Later I sure wished I had measured it for a replica.
