Then there was this girl, my personal best smallie! 19.5" 3.8lbs.  Took me waaayyy to long to break the 18" mark.  Sorry for the crap photo, is short guys can't hold the phone far enough away?

Mary and I went out to our land on the Meramec, hiked the Vilander Bluff Trail, ate lunch atop the bluff with some of the most beautiful bluff top river views you'll find in the MIssouri Ozarks, then did a 2.5 mile float in solo canoes around the Vilander Bluff bend.  I caught a bunch of bass, mostly smallmouth, none over 16 inches, but they were hitting my shallow crankbait, spinnerbaits, and jerkbaits.  I got a report that one of my friends caught a bunch on topwaters today, and lost two big ones on jerkbaits.

Looks like the first front is supposed to come through late in the morning tomorrow, but I'm really thinking about going anyway.
