Sore Thumbs Posted March 17, 2017 Author Posted March 17, 2017 I just remembered a remedy. If you combine super glue with baking soda it makes a hard plastic-like substance. I'll try that.
dtrs5kprs Posted March 17, 2017 Posted March 17, 2017 60 minute Devcon and tape, gradually building it up over a few days is my first suggestion. Then sand to match. If that won't do it. you can go a couple of other ways. Something like Alumilite resin, or marine JB Weld. Same idea. Hughesy 1

abkeenan Posted March 17, 2017 Posted March 17, 2017 I have used Loctite Marine epoxy in the past. Can get it in clear or white. That stuff hardens like a brick and takes about 2 hours to set. 24+ hours to fully cure. A week even better in my experience. I have bonded two pieces of plastic (and lead as well) together using it for various things from fishing lures to my daughters plastic toys....stuff is ROCK SOLID. I would venture to say that it MAY hold up to the abuse that warts get when properly fished. It would get my vote if I were doing a repair on a bait. Made to withstand being submerged in water so it's a fitting epoxy for fishing lures IMO. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Loctite-1405604-0.85-Oz-Marine-Epoxy/20371225?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=335&adid=22222222227016774559&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=c&wl3=52574105111&wl4=pla-84455347151&wl5=9022878&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=111830463&wl11=online&wl12=20371225&wl13=&veh=sem dtrs5kprs 1
Guest Posted March 18, 2017 Posted March 18, 2017 Wrench you deleted your post? We love pre raps & will dig them out of the trash, then use them as a soup spoon.

Pretty neat use of them. I heard the pre raps were considered heirloom variety's. You guys planted the old ones and grew your own . The newer hybrid warts had the taste bred out of them and bass preferred the old ones for taste. Guest Posted March 18, 2017 Posted March 18, 2017 My pre raps are blue tooth enabled with the hydro wave, so the bass think it's a school of crawdads
Hughesy Posted March 18, 2017 Posted March 18, 2017 Dave has the right answer. Devcon 2 ton epoxy and tape for support. dtrs5kprs 1

Deadstream Posted March 18, 2017 Posted March 18, 2017 It sounds like Deadstream needs to get out Granddad and Grandma's old boxes, plus a few buddies boxes that I inherited and see whats in there. I know there are some great old lures in a few and many cranks from the 70's-early 90's in others. Is that the right time period? I will hit the archives and see how to tell the difference.
