Members tkobermann Posted April 3, 2017 Members Posted April 3, 2017 Hey guys I'm going to Bull Shoals this upcoming weekend for 4 days to target smallmouth bass. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on what baits to use or areas to focus on? Will they be up in the arms at this time? I'll be fishing around Theodosia. Thanks in advance!
Ham Posted April 3, 2017 Posted April 3, 2017 Run down lake. It should be stupid good everywhere. Noe. Sister. Oakland areas. Stuff back towards Big Creek. mixermarkb 1 Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
mixermarkb Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 I'm going out of Theodosia in the morning, will probably spend a good bit of the day in the areas from Pontiac over toward Music, looking for smallies. I put in this afternoon and fished LMB in the colored water around the Theodosia area. I'll post a better report after tomorrow, but the fishing was good today. 3pm to 6pm, had 6 solid keepers, 2 were over 18", a couple squeaker keeps and two shorts. Mitch f and Fish24/7 2
mixermarkb Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 As for catching smallies this weekend, look for pea gravel flats, and throw the ned rig, 3-4" grubs on 1/8 to 1/4oz heads, and the smaller paddle tail swimbaits. If you have lots of wind, jerkbaits are worth a toss. I also would have a Spook or a Redfin handy. As Ham said, it should be really good fishing.
Stein Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 Can't wait, going to be on Norfork this weekend after stripers but will chase bass during the day. dan hufferd and mixermarkb 2

For us we only hit it one morning because we were on Norfork half of the trip and then hit the Norfork River for a day and the White for a day. We only fished BS Sunday morning. Caught some OK smallies and a couple LM, largest sm was 17.5. All on the gravel flats or shallow back bays. dtrs5kprs and mixermarkb 2

Couple of small ones on the one topwater bite we had in the AM and one 17" fish one evening. One guy in the group caught a 15 lb'er and another one almost 12 lbs. That's about all I heard for big fish. Dan had a couple smaller ones. mixermarkb 1
