fishinwrench Posted April 12, 2017 Posted April 12, 2017 With all due respect.....When you see a fish in the house with the laundry, it's not an unreasonable assumption that its gills got dried out and might as well have been eaten. In reality though, no worse than a weigh-in line and a parade around the stage.

WeekendWarrior Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 Fish are all over the beds here now, watched at least 10-12 bass either in beds or just hanging a foot or two down in middle of pocket just chilling with the bluegill. And oh, the crappie are biting on banks to ?. fishinwrench and MOsmallies 2
Old plug Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 When I said bedding I was thinking more of the actual spawn. I was out today and caught two keepers that were 2 lb males in shade of docks in water so shallow you could clearly make out bottom details. Sometimes there is a length of time between that coming in and the spwn. Neither of these male had a messed up tail from fanning gravel. maybe the wait just making them horney.
Old plug Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 Weekend Warrior -----I was catching plenty of nice males crappie last week. In the evening just before pink up time till sun down. Last 2 days they been showing up later and later till almost dark. I bet the blacks re going to do a lot of spawing at nite shortly in my area.
fishinwrench Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 I never thought about Kentucky's spawning before the LM, but I suppose it's quite likely. Looks like I might get out tomorrow to see if anything has changed up this way. I'm really not in the mood for a crappie slaughter just yet, but it sounds like I'd better get in the mood pretty quick....or I'll miss out.

You best get after those crappie, I would think they are thick back there by you right now. Old plug Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 Wrench I giess ih the last couple outinging I have caught at least 30 smalll bass about 13" and have yet to catch a Kentucky bas in the mid Gravois. They were mostly 6-8 ft around here. Are a bit deeper Thought that was a bit unusual.
