moguy1973 Posted April 27, 2017 Posted April 27, 2017 When I'm running on choppy water and I don't have my hand on the throttle lever it tends to come up by itself and the boat slows down some. Is this something that is normal or is there a way to tighten up something to keep the throttle position the same in those conditions? It's a Tracker 175 TXW with a 60hp Merc. -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
aarchdale@coresleep.com Posted April 27, 2017 Posted April 27, 2017 Mine doesnt move, I cant help ya with the fix, but i have the same rig and it stays in place. Probably and easy fix
fishinwrench Posted April 27, 2017 Posted April 27, 2017 Depends on the controls. Merc control boxes have a tensioner screw. Aftermarket flush mount controls (Morse, Detmar, etc) often do not. After a few years your cables will get a bit stiff and that issue will likely go away. Post a pic of your controls and I can tell you if it has a tensioner adjustment. marcus and Deadstream 2

Ketchup Posted April 27, 2017 Posted April 27, 2017 On my old boat, the throttle tension screw was behind the center cap in your picture. Does that cap come off? TinBoats BassClub. An aluminum only bass club. If interested in info send me a PM.

I know it presses in to allow me to rev the engine without spinning the prop. -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
