Members brianetz1 Posted May 4, 2017 Author Members Posted May 4, 2017 Water like chocolate milk. Tough afternoon fighting the wind too. Caught 2 in backs of coves on PBJ NED. Nothing else, threw crank top water, spinner, and chatter too
willyfish Posted May 5, 2017 Posted May 5, 2017 I'll be down tomorrow fishing dam area, Gravois. I've got three rods with a spinnerbait square bill and a jig tied on. If they don't bite that I'm not gonna do well, but I'm stubborn.
willyfish Posted May 5, 2017 Posted May 5, 2017 Forgot to add my buddy and his dad fished today and the old guy in the back of the boat wore them out on a senko he said. Water color is a lot better up that way

willyfish Posted May 5, 2017 Posted May 5, 2017 The dam Gravois area, should I say down that way I guess?
fishinwrench Posted May 5, 2017 Posted May 5, 2017 I've only been chasing Whites lately but I'm hearing about a pretty good topwater bite. It will be another week or more before I get back to messing with the green bass.
shrapnel Posted May 5, 2017 Posted May 5, 2017 I'm fishing the MDA tourney out of Lakeview this weekend, I'll do my best to bring some big ones from the Glaize back down that way
Old plug Posted May 5, 2017 Posted May 5, 2017 I would not let it stop me.. I have not been out in the boat all week but I have been catching some bass bass shorts plus a few 10 crappie on a 3 1/2 to 4 inch swim baits in the evenings. I get a lot of nips with that swim bait so I feel sure there sre plenty of crappoe there.
willyfish Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 4 keeps a little over 9 lbs, baby brush hog or a wacky rigged senko. 19 lbs won, fish were everywhere from the people I talked to. Some up behind the docks which is always the case and some out on points in a little deeper water.

With you staying at Kon Tiki and having limited running capabilities i would look in the backs of the bigger creeks near you and Linn creek with the gates open some of the back ends of creeks will clean up some. Good luck stay safe watch for floaters when running. Do not be to sure of that. You can hardly see below the surface in the in the mid Gravois but I have geen catching a few crappie 10" and longer with the largest close to 12" Using a 3 1/2 to 4 inch swim bait. Also a few keeper bass up to better than 17 inches on a jig. I have not left mine or my 2 neighbors docks. Funny thing is the fish seem to be early and late pattern just like a clear water pattern that is normal for now. I only fish for a couple hours a day. I am going to get out though starting tomorrow. I do not like to fight the wind we been having this week.
